A flash tattoo is, at its core, a motif from the tattoo artist’s own repertoire – a finished artwork, ready to be worn, without the extended process that a custom tattoo involves. It is a tradition that reaches back to the early days of tattoo studios, when artists hung their best sheets on the wall and customers chose directly from what was on display. A flash was a choice made in the moment, with trust in the artist’s judgment.
In LikeInk’s artist collaborations, that tradition continues. We work with tattoo artists and illustrators based in Sweden and internationally to produce exclusive flash tattoo sheets in temporary tattoo format. The sheets are direct reproductions of the artist’s original artwork – not interpretations or derivatives. What you wear is exactly what the artist drew, in their style and with their voice.
The collaborating artists represent a wide range of styles. Blackwork and fineline from artists working in a more minimalist, graphic-oriented aesthetic. Watercolour-inspired flash from artists with a more painterly expression. Old school-influenced sheets from artists deeply rooted in the traditional style’s visual language. Illustrative and narrative sheets with a more distinct artistic storytelling quality.
The sheets are released in limited editions and are not necessarily reprinted. This is an intentional part of the concept – the flash tradition is about choosing something that exists now, in this moment, not about ordering something retrospectively.
Each collaboration sheet includes information about the artist and a link to their studio or portfolio. It is a way of connecting the temporary tattoo buyer to the living tattoo culture – and for those who find a style they genuinely recognise themselves in, a natural next step toward a permanent tattoo.
All tattoos last 3–7 days. Vegan and free from allergens. Tested in accordance with EU cosmetics regulations. Shipped within 24 hours from Malmö. Made in Sweden.
Application: Cut out the motif, remove the clear film, place face-down against the skin, press with a damp sponge for 15 seconds and gently peel away the paper. Allow to dry for 60 seconds.
Removal: A few drops of cooking oil, coconut oil or baby oil – rub gently and rinse off.

What is the difference between a flash tattoo and a custom tattoo?
A flash tattoo is an existing, finished motif created by an artist – you select it without modifications. A custom tattoo is designed specifically for you based on your brief. Flash represents the artist’s own creative voice and is generally not offered in modified versions. This is part of the respect for authorship and artistic integrity.
Can I contact the artists to book a permanent tattoo?
Each sheet includes information about the tattoo artist or illustrator who created the motif, with studio and contact details where available. LikeInk facilitates the connection but is not involved in the booking process.
Is the edition genuinely limited?
Yes. Sheets are printed in limited editions by agreement with each artist or illustrator. When an edition is sold out, it is sold out. We do not reprint without renewed approval from the originating artist.
Is the motif the same as getting a real tattoo from that artist?
The motif is a direct reproduction of the artist’s flash artwork. The permanent execution on skin may differ slightly in texture and depth from the temporary version, but the graphic content – lines, shapes, composition – is identical.
